President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rewarded the Super Falcons with national honours, cash prizes, and housing allocations following their historic victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

During a special reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, President Tinubu bestowed the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all 24 Super Falcons players and their technical crew in recognition of their outstanding performance.

In addition, the president publicized a cash reward of the naira equivalent of $100,000 for each player and $50,000 for each member of the technical crew. He also allocated three-bedroom apartments to all players and technical staff at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Abuja.

“The entire nation is proud of your resilience, your spirit, and your tenacity,” Tinubu said during the ceremony.

“You have not only won a trophy; you have won the hearts of millions of Nigerians. I hereby confer on you the Officer of the Order of the Niger. Additionally, I have approved the allocation of housing and directed the payment of your cash rewards.”

Tinubu admitted he was so tense during the final; “I didn’t want to have high blood pressure,” the president joked.

Additionally, the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, through its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, awarded a generous ₦10 million to each player as a further show of appreciation.

On Monday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the WAFCON 2025 Best XI, featuring four standout Super Falcons players: Chiamaka Nnadozie as goalkeeper, Mitchelle Alozie in defense, Rasheedat Ajibade in midfield, and Esther Okoronkwo leading the attack.
