Akwa Ibom Government has approved the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into its mainstream civil service, Frank Ekpenyong, the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, has said.
StartSmart Nigeria reported that Mr. Ekpenyong stated, in a press release released in Uyo on Monday, that the recruitment was a strategic move to enhance public service delivery and elevate youth empowerment across the state.
He said the recruitment exercise, which cuts across a wide range of strictness and cadres, included healthcare, education, law, agriculture, engineering, science, and administration.
The commissioner revealed that the recruitment process would be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal — https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng.
He narrated the edged as part of the governor’s commitment to transparency and job creation via the ARISE Agenda.
“These appointments span every discipline and cadre, including teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, agriculturalists, and many more,” he said.
Mr. Ekpenyong stated that prospective interviewers must complete their profiles on the portal by uploading essential documents — including academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and other required credentials — before proceeding with their applications.
He said the ministry clarified that prospects must apply for only one vacancy that aligned with their qualifications and that a sustainable email address would serve as the sole channel of communication throughout the process.
According to him, once the application closes, shortlisted candidates will be notified through the portal and required to accept their shortlisting online.
The commissioner said that those shortlisted would get a QR-coded interview invitation later.
According to him, some roles may require an aptitude test, for which clear instructions and dates will be provided via the portal.
“Candidates are expected to present their printed invitation slip, original certificates, and writing materials on the day of the test or interview.
“Successful applicants will receive final notifications through the portal and be directed to report to the appropriate departments for documentation and onboarding.
“Once your appointment is confirmed, your status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to ‘Employed,” he said.
Mr. Ekpenyong stated that the listing is scheduled to take place on or before July 31.
“We wish all applicants the very best and thank you for your interest in serving the state,” Ekpenyong said.
