The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has officially begun online registration for the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), a key part of the Federal Government’s ‘Jobs For All’ program.

This phase falls under the broader Renewed Hope Agenda and focuses on creating eco-friendly job opportunities for Nigerians across various sectors. Earlier this year, the NDE indicated that preparations for the second phase were underway, and it is now live. According to the agency, this initiative is a bold step toward reducing unemployment and promoting self-reliance through practical skill acquisition.

“We are calling unemployed, underemployed, and interested youths to participate in this life-changing program,” the NDE stated in an official announcement.

The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative offers free training in various categories, including vocational, digital, agricultural, and entrepreneurial skills. It aims not only to train individuals but also to connect them with real employment opportunities while supporting economic growth through a skilled workforce.

Below is a detailed list of the skill areas available under the program:

A.

Rural Employment Promotion Programme

This category emphasizes agriculture and rural enterprises. Training options include:

• Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) – focused on modern and eco-friendly farming techniques.

• Organic Agricultural Training Scheme (OATS) – training in natural, chemical-free farming methods.

• Fish Production and Feed Formulation Training Scheme (FPFFTS) – for those interested in aquaculture and feed processing.

• Microlivestock Agricultural Training Scheme (MATS) – training in rearing small livestock like rabbits and poultry.

• Small Stock (Goat) Production Empowerment Scheme (SSGPES) – focused on goat farming and small-scale animal husbandry.

B.

Small Scale Enterprises Programme

This track is designed for individuals interested in starting or expanding small businesses. It includes:

• Start Your Own Business (SYOB) – guides participants through launching and managing small ventures.

• Enterprise and Finance Counseling Clinic (NDE-efcc) – provides business and financial advice.

• Maturated Peoples’ Programme (MPP) – tailored training for older individuals aiming to start a small business.

• Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES) – supports existing micro-enterprises seeking to grow.

• Basic Business Training (BBT) – foundational business skills for aspiring entrepreneurs.

C.

Vocational Skills Development Programme

This area emphasizes practical, hands-on technical and digital skills. Courses include:

• Quick-Fix Demand Driven Development and Empowerment – intensive training focused on market demands.

• Digital Skills Training – covering digital marketing, graphic design, and basic tech tools.

• Community-Based Training and Empowerment – localized skill development tailored to community needs.

• Techno-Cultural Craft Training Scheme – training in traditional crafts using modern techniques.

• Special Vocational Training – designed for Persons with Special Needs and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to promote inclusion.

D.

Special Public Works Programme

This category combines technical training with employment support and includes:

• Solar Energy Training and Empowerment Scheme – training on solar panel installation and renewable energy.

• Environmental Beautification Training and Empowerment Scheme – focused on landscaping, waste management, and environmental care.

• Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP) – temporary work placements for recent graduates to gain experience.

• Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS) – academic support and exam preparation for job seekers and graduates.

To register for any of these training programs, applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIN), a valid email address, and passport photographs. Registration is open from Monday, July 28, 2025, and closes on Monday, August 11, 2025.
