FG Partners DBN to Provide ₦100 Million Grant to 3MTT Nigeria Fellows
In a calculated move to empower Nigeria’s tech talents, the Federal Government has made known a new partnership with the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) to provide financial support to beneficiaries of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program.
The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, announced the initiative, calling it a major step forward in the government’s mission to empower Nigerian youth through innovative programs, digital skills development, and improved access to funding opportunities.
We recently marked another milestone in our mission to uplift Nigeria’s youth by partnering with the Development Bank of Nigeria to expand opportunities for our 3MTT Nigeria fellows,” Dr. Tijani said.
The Federal Government has announced a ₦100 million grant targeted at empowering startups and MSMEs established by fellows of the 3MTT (3 Million Technical Talent) Nigeria program. According to the Minister, this initiative is designed to bridge the critical funding gap that often limits the growth of innovative ideas, even when technical skills are in place.
The grant aims to transform skilled individuals into successful entrepreneurs by providing them with the financial resources needed to scale their ventures into sustainable, job-creating businesses.
“This is a strong example of how government can work hand-in-hand with the private sector to create meaningful impact,” Tijani added.
Driving Innovation Through Investment
The initiative supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bold vision of transforming Nigeria into a $1 trillion economy, driven by innovation and digital progress. By empowering tech entrepreneurs with essential financial backing, the grant will fuel digital growth and equip Nigeria’s emerging tech talent with the resources needed to compete on the global stage.
“As we continue to pursue President Tinubu’s vision of a $1 trillion economy, partnerships like this remind us that innovation thrives best when it is backed by collaboration and intentional investment in people,” Dr. Tijani concluded.
The 3MTT Nigeria program, launched under the Renewed Hope Agenda, seeks to train three million Nigerians in technical and digital skills, preparing them for roles in software development, data analysis, cybersecurity, and more.
