StartSmart Nigeria reports that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has raised an alarm over a fraudulent online portal making rounds on social media, falsely claiming that the Federal Government has reopened the student loan application platform.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, the Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, quashed the misleading message and warning the public to exercise caution. student loan scam
“The attention of NELFUND has been drawn to a fraudulent message currently circulating online, falsely claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal,” Oluwatuyi said.
She urges that the fake website, which is being promoted through various online channels, is not affiliated with the official NELFUND platform.
